Australian Vacation - Day 1

We'll , we are on our way on our first official Australian adventure.

We left our place this morning at around 8 am and headed for the Airport. It took us about an hour in the traffic but got there and dropped off the rental van by 9:30 for our 10:15 flight. The great Virgin Blue staff pulled us out of the long line and let us check in without waiting in line at all ! Way to go Richard Branson !

The flight was on time despite the airport losing power and we departed by around 10:30. Wyatt had his own seat while Cooper and Maddy sat in Mel and I's laps. Julia also had her own seat by the way.

We arrived in Brisbane roughly 2 hours later. We gathered our luggage and had lunch at an airport cafe...food was not great but we didn't have much choice. We then took a "Maxi" taxi from the airport to the warf where the boat would take us to Moreton Island and the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin resort....google it ! ... We had to kill 3 hours in the industrial part as there was nothing around but we just let the kids play in the parking lot and then went for a walk while they had their afternoon naps in the strollers. The ride over was in a high speed catemaran and was quite nice although pretty dark. The voyage took about an hour.

We arrived here at around 6 pm just as they were doing the nightly dolphin feeding so we will have to wait till tomorrow night to get our shot at it. We checked in to our villa and had a quick pizza dinner and had the kids in bed by 8:30.

I think tomorrow will be spent on the beach and relaxing...maybe a small tour or 4 wheeler adventure...who knows ?!?!

We will try to keep this updated as the adventure continues provided we can get internet access.

Jeff and Mel.
